On an official visit to the institutions of Al-Mahra University, His Excellency the Minister of Works, Engineer Salem Muhammad Al-Aboudi, and His Excellency Professor Muhammad Ali Yasser, the Governor of Al-Mahra Governorate and the President of Al-Mahra University, Dr. Anwar Muhammad Kalshat, were briefed on the progress of work in the Mahari Language Center for Studies and Research in the city of Al-Ghaydah.
During the visit, in which the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Professor Salem Abdullah Nimer, accompanied them, Dr. Saeed Al-Qumairi, Executive Director of the Center, conveyed the greetings of Professor Amer Fael Belhaf, President of the Center. We congratulated all the people of Al-Mahra, the authority and people, on the issuance of the Republican decision to establish Al-Mahra University and name its president, Dr. Anwar Kalshat.
Praising the role of the local authority in supporting and supervising all the activities and events of the center, Dr. Al-Qumairi gave a detailed explanation of the most prominent works and achievements of the center since its establishment on October 2, 2017, which the Mahris made an official holiday celebrating in their language every year, in addition to many scientific publications and research partnerships. At the local, regional and international levels, the most recent of which was the establishment of a scientific conference “Al-Mahra Through History” in cooperation with the Aden Center for Historical Studies and Research.
