Department of Studies and Research

Launching the Center’s annual award in language, literature and documentaries.
– The issuance of a series of publications of the Center:
1- Mehri poetry – its artistic and aesthetic features, its contingent structure, and its weights.
2- Skilled memories and thoughts and Ashjan.
3- French translation of the South Arabic languages (under publication).
– Workshop: Outcome (Creating a Special Alphabet for the Mehri Language).
– Presentation and presentation of scientific books on Al-Mahra: Its Language and History.
– Inviting researchers to carry out scientific symposia specialized in history and language.
– A workshop on how to prepare language dictionaries.

Department of Media and Public Relations

  • Communicate with similar centers and benefit from their experiences
  • Implementation of multiple visits to the governorate’s institutions and schools and the implementation of joint activities.
  • Publish the center’s news in various media.
  • Coordination with media channels to visit the center and conduct television interviews with members of its management.
  • Continuing the creation of the center’s website (mcsr.mhru.edu.ye)
  • Communicate with technicians in advertising to announce the center’s activities

Finance Department

1. Preparing the center’s annual budget.
2. Follow up the operational expenses of the center.
3. Follow up the remuneration of the members of the board of directors.

Documentation and Planning Department

  • Multiple field visits to document the Mehri language and preserve it electronically.
  • Implementation of a project entitled “Social Documentation of Environmental and Cultural Alliance in the Mehri Language in Eastern Yemen: Funded by the International Program for the Preservation of Linguistic Minorities, University of London.
  • Participation in the programs of the Yemeni Ministry of Culture related to the intangible heritage sector.
  • Launching a field project to list and document the vocabulary of the Mehri language
  • Submitting research projects on preserving the Mehri language to international donors such as the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen and UNESCO.
  • Developing the center’s library by providing it with books and resources related to the linguistic field.
  • Preparing future plans to develop the performance of the center.
  • Contribute to the success of the activities of the Mehri Language Day, which falls on the second of October of each year.
