Mehri Language Center for Studies and Research approved the written system for the Mehri language, according to the outcomes of the workshop held by the center last June.The approval process came during the meeting held today in the city of Al-Ghaydah, headed by the Undersecretary of Al-Mahra Governorate and the Chairman of the Committee for Approving the Written System of the Mehri Language, Sheikh Saleh Alyan.And where he stressed the need to pay attention to the Mehri language, stressing the support of the local authority represented by the governor, Sheikh Rajeh Bakrit, to the Mehri Language Center for Studies and Research.The participants in the meeting reached the adoption of the use of Arabic letters as a writing system for the Mehri language, with the addition of five letters that characterize the Mehri language.Last month, the Mehri Language Center organized a workshop on the possibility of writing the Mehri language, and the participants and the conferees came up with one of two options in which the Mehri language can be written, the first option is to use Arabic letters and the second option is to use the Musnad letters.The meeting was attended by the Director of the Education Office in the Governorate, Samir Harash, the Director of the Tourism Office in the Governorate, Ahmed Ali Raafit, the Director of the Office of the Antiquities and Museums Authority in Mahra, Salem Abdullah Bakrit, the Dean of the Faculty of Education in Mahra, And a number of academics and those interested in the Mehri language
