The Head of the Mehri Language Centre for Studies and Research, Professor Amer Fa ‘el Belhav, received at the Centre’s headquarters the Division of Mehri Language of the Pioneer Community Schools in Baghdah, capital of Al Mahra governorate, which visited the Centre on 2021/11/16, under the leadership of Professor Qasem l Al-Hatami, Head of the Division and Professor Naziha Abdo Metar and Tr. Nadeer.
Prof. Aamir Belhaf, President of the Center, welcomed the visiter and provided them with an introduction about the Center and its most important activities and its role in the production of books and magazines. He also answered questions and queries from students expanding their knowledge.
Then, Mr. Saad Muslim Kalshat, Head of Documentation Department of the Center, spoke on the importance of documentation and preserving the identity of the language and historical heritage of the governorate, considering that young people are the main pillar of the Mehri language, thanking the school administration for this kind gesture and wishing the rest of the schools to follow suit.
Professor Kassem gave an overview of the division, its objectives and the ambition hoped for in the coming days and explained that the division has a magazine that will be published monthly with interest in students’ affairs as well as culture and general themes
The students expressed their joy at this visit to the Centre and praised a course in the service of the Mehari language considering that the Center has become a destination for every researcher and interest in the Mehri language.
Finally, the Division’s Mehri Language Centre has provided a number of copies of the Centre’s publications.
